Wiku said in a press conference here on Sunday, health equipments that are urgently needed are self protection devices and laboratory test kits including Reverse Transcriptase-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) reagent, viral transfer media, rapid diagnostic test kit, and nasal swab kit..
The health authority also need ventilator for patients with a symptom of shortness of breath.
According to Wiku, laboratories in some regions in Indonesia have the capability to conduct a test to detect COVID-19, but they would need RT-PCR reagent.
"Actually there are many laboratories in Indonesia that already have RT-PCR, if they can have a precise reagent, they can conduct a rapid test," he added.
The expert team of the task force has formulated public guidance of coronavirus prevention and its medical treatment in health facilities.
The guidance includes non face-to-face public education, rapid test management in the laboratory, patient care in the hospital, quarantine and isolation, handling of died patient.
The team would also select based on its priority, local as well as international grants of health equipment and logistic.
As of Sunday, Indonesia has confirmed 450 cases of COVID-19. The death toll has increased to touch 38 and 20 patients recovered.
Jakarta has reported 44 new cases, taking the total in the capital city so far to 267. The number of cases in West Java have reached 55 with the addition of 14 fresh cases. With 11 new cases, East Java now has 26 patients. Banten has reported four new cases, bringing the total to 43. Meanwhile, Central Java and South Sulawesi have reported two fresh cases.
Of the six most recent deaths, five were reported from Jakarta and one from Banten.
