Jakarta (ANTARA) - AirAsia Indonesia will provisionally halt flight services in Indonesia since April 1, 2020, to stem the risk of the coronavirus outbreak in the country and bolster the government's efforts to contain its spread.

All domestic flights will be temporarily stopped until April 21 and international flights until May 17, 2020, AirAsia Indonesia noted in its official statement released on Saturday.

The airline will continue to monitor developments and take precautionary measures to restore flight services when normalcy is restored, according to the statement.

The passengers registered at the time of purchasing tickets will be notified of the cancelled flights through email and SMS.

AirAsia offers flexible choices to the affected passengers that entail unlimited changes to flights and dates without the need to pay any additional charge or credit account in the form of balance equal to the purchasing price that can be used to buy another tickets for 365 days.

For group bookings, travel agents or other third parties can contact their respective agents for further assistance.

AirAsia has suggested that potential passengers urgently needing to travel in the near future should change their departure time before April 1, 2020.
