The public can make cloth masks themselves by sewing them manually or using sewing  machines
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chief of the Expert Team of COVID-19 Response Task Force Wiku Adisasmito has recommended the use of three layer cloth marks to thwart the transmission of coronavirus disease or COVID-19.

"Three layers of masks will increase the effectiveness of the masks to prevent virus," he said at the National Disaster Mitigation Board (BNPB) Building in Jakarta on Sunday.

The result of a research shows that cloth masks can thwart up to 70 percent of the virus transmitted by somebody else, he said.

"The public can make cloth masks themselves by sewing them manually or using sewing machines," he said adding the model of cloth used for the masks should be adjusted to the face of users..

Before using cloth masks, the public must ensure that their hands are clean, the masks cover from nose to chin and must not be loose

He said COVID-19 can be transmitted through droplet entering the human body though eye, nose and mouth.

He expressed the hope that the public will always keep a distance of at least one to two meters while mingling with the crowd and stay at home if they have no important outdoor activities.
