Jayapura,. Papua (ANTARA) - Head of the Jayapura Port Health Quarantine Office Harold Pical confirmed that Papua Governor Lukas Enembe was flown to Jakarta on early Tuesday for medical treatment.

The governor, in the company of his private doctor and family, departed from Jayapura aboard a Batik Air plane at 1:20 a.m. local time, Pical remarked.

The aircraft had onboard a total of 10 people plus crew members, he noted.

Shortly after arriving in Jakarta, the governor will be taken to the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, Pical revealed, adding that his health was stable.

Pical admitted to not having exact information on which disease he was ailing from. However, before departing for Jakarta, the quarantine office had checked the health condition of all passengers and crew members

On a separate occasion, acting general manager of Sentani Airport Anthonius Praptono remarked that the chartered aircraft arrived at the airport at 00:01 a.m. local time and departed for Jakarta at 1:20 a.m. local time.

"It is true that a chartered aircraft had landed at the airport early Tuesday to carry an ill person to Jakarta. However, I do not know exactly who is the person," Praptono stated in a short message text.
