Task force confirms recovery of COVID-infected toddler from Cilacap

Purwokerto (ANTARA) - A four-year-old toddler, identified as AL, residing in Bulupayung Village, Cilacap District, Central Java, was declared cured of COVID-19, Chairman of Task Force for the Acceleration of COVID-19 Handling of Cilacap District, Farid Ma'ruf stated.

"Alhamdulillah (Thank God), AL has been declared cured. He was brought back to his house by the Cilacap District Head Tatto Suwarto Pamuji," Ma'ruf remarked when contacted from Purwokerto, Banyumas District, on Wednesday.

Ma’ruf received confirmation on the results of the last swab examination that came negative after testing positive for COVID-19 based on the results of the first swab examination before the toddler underwent treatment at the Cilacap Regional Hospital.

Toddlers that recently returned from Jakarta and Sumedang along with their parents and the residents of Bulupayung Village, Kesugihan Sub-District, had tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday (Mar 25), so they had to undergo isolation at the Cilacap Regional Hospital.

"Since being declared cured, there is no need for self-isolation. However, the toddler still has to maintain health in accordance with the government regulations," Farid, concurrently secretary of the Cilacap Region.

Speaking in connection with the number of COVID-19 patients in Cilacap District, he stated that based on data, on Wednesday (Apr 15), there were 10 individuals comprising one declared cured, one who died, and eight still undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, two patients under surveillance (PDP) who had tested positive for COVID-19 comprised a man from Wanareja with a travel history of Bandung and a woman from Kuripan who had traveled to Klaten.

"In addition, the eight COVID-19 patients are in good health. They are just awaiting the results of the swab examination," he expounded.
