Jakarta (ANTARA) - Over 280 thousand people will participate in the second term of the Pre-employment Card program, an official confirmed here on Wednesday.

"For this second term, for which many people may have received such notifications, the number of participants totals 288,154," Executive Director of the Pre-employment Card Program Management Denni Puspa Purbasari stated during an online discussion.

Cumulatively, the number of people that registered -- since the initial process across Indonesia -- totals 8.6 million on Tuesday, April 28, with 168,111 people among them being accepted in the first term.

"We are optimistic of undertaking this program optimally, as many people are interested to participate. Hopefully, it would reach out to more people in Indonesia," Purbasari stated, adding that the government had transferred Rp3.55 million (some US$232) to each participant.

The package comprises funding utilized for skill training on online platforms, which Purbasari said that some two thousand various courses are provided by eight official partners: BukaLapak, MauBelajarApa, Pintaria, Ruangguru, Sekolahmu, Tokopedia, Pijat Mahir, and Sisnaker.

"We can see that the courses people bought vary (in type and price, red), starting from Rp24,000 to Rp1.5 million (about US$1.6 to US$98)," she remarked, adding that the people opt more for English courses, particularly grammar sessions and TOEFL.
