The CPO price dropped 1.9 percent compared to the week earlier.
Pekanbaru, Riau (ANTARA) - The price of fresh fruit bunches obtained from oil palm trees aged 10 - 20 years in Riau province fell by Rp120.20/kg to Rp2,240.92/kg in April 7-13, 2021 from Rp2,361.15/kg a week earlier.

"The drop in the price of fresh fruit bunches of Riau palm oil is the result of the declining sale prices of crude palm oil (CPO) and kernel from several companies that serve as data sources," head of the Riau Provincial Plantation Office, Zulfadli, said here on Tuesday.

The price of CPO from state-owned plantation company PT PTPN V fell Rp380.80/kg, PT. Sinar Mas Group declined Rp580.30/kg, PT. Astra Agro Lestari Group dropped Rp176.00/Kg, and PT. Asian Agri Group declined Rp361.56/Kg compared to a week earlier.

Meanwhile, the sale price of kernels from PT. Astra Agro Lestari Group fell Rp298.09/kg and PT. Asian Agri Group dropped Rp330.00/kg compared to the previous week

On the external front, the declining price of fresh fruit bunches this week tracked the weakening of the shares of palm oil companies at the start of the first trading session on March 30, 2021, amidst a drop in the price of palm oil in the previous day’s trading.

"The CPO price dropped 1.9 percent compared to the week earlier," Zulfadli informed.
