We are committed to optimizing our services for Hajj pilgrims amid the 1443 H/2022 AD pilgrimage.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian government has determined that the charge for Hajj pilgrimage in 1443 Hijri (H)/2022 AD will be Rp39,886,009 (US$2,763) per participant.

Chairman of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives (DPR), Yandri Susanto, conveyed the decision during the Hajj Working Committee meeting between the commission and the Religious Affairs Ministry at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

The Hajj pilgrimage fee in 2022 is higher compared to 2020, when it was set at Rp35 million (US$2,424).

Although there has been an increase, the additional fee will not be charged to prospective pilgrims.

Susanto said that the basis for the determination of the 2022 Hajj pilgrimage cost was the assumption of the Hajj quota for Indonesian pilgrims of 110,500 pilgrims, or 50 percent of the quota provided in 2019.

Earlier, the government of Saudi Arabia had announced that the 2022 Hajj services will be opened for one million people. However, the authority did not provide details on the Hajj pilgrim quota for each country.

"We are committed to optimizing our services for Hajj pilgrims amid the 1443 H/2022 AD pilgrimage. We continue to encourage the implementation of the Hajj pilgrimage in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic while still paying attention to the health protocols," head of the Hajj Working Committee, Ace Hasan Syadzily, said.

The duration of the pilgrims’ stay in Saudi Arabia will be 41 days. One of the services improved for them will be the addition of a meal during their stay in Mecca and Medina from two meals per day to three meals per day.

In addition, there will be an improvement in the accommodation services.

Meanwhile, Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas said that the real amount of operational costs required to prepare and conduct the Hajj pilgrimage services will come from the state budget, regional budget, initial and paid deposits, funds for optimizing Hajj financial development, Hajj operational efficiency funds, as well as other legitimate sources.
