We expect that the development of the premium concept will provide a high-value tourism experience to visitors while still maintaining the environmental sustainability of the area.
Pangkalpinang, Babel (ANTARA) - The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry and the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment have approved Bangka Belitung province’s Integrated Tourism Master Plan for developing sustainable tourism in the region.

"Initially, we expect that the socialization of the Integrated Tourism Master Plan of Bangka Belitung province can start today," Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said while inaugurating the Melati Creative Space here on Wednesday.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Deputy Governor of Bangka Belitung Islands, Abdul Fatah, and the senior deputy of the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry completed the master plan two weeks ago, he noted.

"The plan is super cool and we wanted to start its socialization today, however, Mr. Panjaitan suddenly must conduct a roadshow in America, so the socialization has to be postponed," he said.

The master plan is the fruit of years of efforts by the ministers and related stakeholders, he added.

“Thus, we should be grateful for the progress of tourism in Bangka Belitung Islands," he said.

He emphasized that the development of the tourism area must pay attention to the environment, culture, and local wisdom aspects, so that the prepared premium tourism concept can be realized.

"We expect that the development of the premium concept will provide a high-value tourism experience to visitors while still maintaining the environmental sustainability of the area," he added.

On the same occasion, the minister lauded the establishment of the Melati Creative Space, which was initiated by head of the Bangka Belitung Islands Regional National Crafts Council (Dekranasda), Erzaldi Rosman Djohan.

The facility must be managed and utilized optimally by conducting weekly and monthly local events as well as annual international activities, he said.
