For the return flow later, we have prepared free transportation service
Semarang, C Java (ANTARA) - The Central Java provincial government has facilitated free return transportation for residents keen on later returning to the Greater Jakarta area.

"For the return flow later, we have prepared free transportation service. The (vehicles) are still the same. There are trains and buses," Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo stated after watching the departure of 320 people aboard the train at Senen Station here on Friday.

Some 145 buses and four train cars had been prepared for the program, he noted.

Pranowo affirmed that they were still cooperating with the stakeholders to determine the schedules.

"Hopefully, people, who will return to (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi), can make use of this program," he stated.

The free return transportation program was implemented in keeping with the public's enthusiasm to participate in the program.

"(People were so interested) so much so that last night I received a call. 'Sir, there are still some people left behind' despite having already dispatched 126 buses. Eventually, at night, I seek the deployment of three additional buses to facilitate our brothers and sisters during the Eid exodus," he remarked.

People commended the program after being informed of it, and they expressed their gratitude to the governor for the free transportation program.

"Thank God, I am very happy if our return trip is for free. This is very helpful for us, especially ordinary people, who want to celebrate Eid in hometowns. Yes, we will definitely partake in the services. It is something," a laborer, Abdul Wahid, 54, from Demak District, remarked.

Aldi Bagus, 30, from Brebes District, expressed relief due to the implementation of the free return transportation program to return to Jakarta.

"If there is free return transportation, then I am very grateful. This is very helpful for us. Just imagine if we (had to) pay (for the transportation) by ourselves, then how much would it have cost us? (A trip for) one person can cost Rp300 thousand. How much would it cost for an entire family?" he stated.

He also lauded Pranowo for offering trains as one of the modes of transportation in the program, given he was going on a trip with his wife, who was heavily pregnant. He deemed it more comfortable to take the train.
