Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized a gas plant and 13 gas pipelines in Cilegon, Banten, as part of an investigation into alleged corruption involving state-owned gas company PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN).

The assets are linked to a scheme that reportedly caused state losses of up to US$15 million, according to an investigative audit by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told reporters in Jakarta on Friday that the assets seized belonged to PT Banten Inti Gasindo (BIG), comprising a 300-square-meter plot of land and a two-story office building in Cilegon.

“In addition, investigators also seized 13 gas pipelines owned by PT BIG, with a total length of 7.6 kilometers,” Prasetyo said.

The seizure was conducted over the past week and finalized with the installation of confiscation signs on October 28.

According to Prasetyo, PT Banten Inti Gasindo—part of the ISARGAS Group—was targeted because it had been used as collateral in a gas sale and purchase agreement between PT PGN and PT Inti Alasindo Energy (IAE).

The confiscation also aims to optimize the recovery of financial losses incurred by the state.

The alleged corruption case dates back to the approval of PGN’s 2017 Corporate Work and Budget Plan (RKAP) on December 19, 2016, which initially did not include any plan to purchase gas from PT IAE.

However, on November 2, 2017, PGN and IAE signed a cooperation agreement following several rounds of negotiation.

Just one week later, on November 9, 2017, PGN paid an advance of US$15 million to PT IAE.

KPK has since named several suspects: former PT IAE Commissioner Iswan Ibrahim (2006–2023) and former PGN Commercial Director Danny Praditya (2016–2019). On October 1, 2025, former PGN President Director Hendi Prio Santoso was also named a suspect and arrested. On October 21, 2025, PT IAE President Commissioner Arso Sadewo was likewise named and taken into custody.
