"The assistance includes logistics, public kitchens, and the deployment of disaster preparedness volunteers (Tagana) in all affected areas. We continue to coordinate and collaborate with all parties," Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf said here on Sunday.
The ministry's disaster response efforts on the ground have been strengthened by the establishment of 39 public kitchens providing 417,749 meals per day, the supply of 101.4 tons of rice, and thousands of basic needs packages, including tents and blankets.
"As many as 648 Tagana personnel have been deployed for evacuation, public kitchen operations, and psychosocial support services for the affected residents," Yusuf said.
As the province that experienced the largest impact, with 747 thousand evacuees recorded, 21 public kitchens supplying 109,178 meals are operating in Aceh.
The logistics that have been supplied include 8,300 packages of ready-to-eat meals, 4,720 children's meals, 3,395 mattresses, 5,750 blankets, and 52 tons of rice. The assistance provided to Aceh is worth Rp22.6 billion in total, supported by 191 Tagana personnel.
In North Sumatra, the ministry's disaster relief efforts include the operation of eight public kitchens with a daily capacity of 22,960 meals.
Logistics delivered to the province include 33,430 ready-to-eat meals, 8,160 children's meals, 1,850 mattresses, and 15 tons of rice. A total of 270 Tagana personnel have been deployed across 11 districts and cities, with total aid valued at Rp26.7 billion.
Meanwhile, in West Sumatra, the ministry is operating 10 public kitchens with a significantly higher capacity of 285,611 meals per day.
The aid that has been delivered includes 14,758 ready-to-eat meals, 5,640 children's meals, 4,135 mattresses, 5,680 family kits, and 34.4 tons of rice, with assistance worth reaching Rp17.3 billion. In this region, 187 Tagana personnel are working across nine districts and cities.
"The ministry also expands the response measures through operations reaching areas with challenging access in cooperation with the Indonesian Navy, regional governments, and the national logistics networks," the minister remarked.
Floods and landslides struck Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra in late November 2025 following high-intensity rainfall. According to data from the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), as of December 7, the death toll had reached 916, while 274 people remained missing.
