Bulog President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani said here on Friday that the rice distribution is carried out to traditional markets so that prices remain controlled and affordable for the public.
In addition to traditional markets, Bulog also distributes rice through Red and White Village Cooperatives, ensuring all cooperative outlets receive continuous supplies of SPHP and premium rice.
Bulog has also participated in the cheap food movement (GPM) with ministries, agencies, regional governments, and other institutions to help ease the public’s burden in meeting basic needs.
Distribution also covers outlets fostered by regional governments, regionally owned enterprise cooperatives, government agency cooperatives, as well as the Rumah Pangan Kita (RPK) network, which totals around 80 thousand locations.
In addition, the SPHP rice is distributed through supermarkets and modern retail stores to expand public access to affordable rice.
The rice is distributed in 5-kilogram packages with medium quality, featuring a broken grain rate of around 25 percent and moisture content of 14 percent in accordance with government standards. A 2-kg package is also being prepared.
SPHP rice is sold in line with the highest retail price (HET), namely Rp12,500 per kilogram for zone 1 (Java, Lampung, South Sumatra, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, Sulawesi); Rp13,100 per kg for zone 2 (Sumatra except Lampung and South Sumatra, East Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan); and Rp13,500 per kg for zone 3 (Maluku and Papua).
