Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KP2MI) calls on Indonesian women, especially migrant workers, to continue to keep alive the spirit of Raden Ajeng (RA) Kartini in facing increasingly complex and dynamic challenges.

"Kartini's spirit today is not only about emancipation, but also about the courage to adapt in the global and digital era," said the Deputy Minister of P2MI Christina Aryani in a statement here on Tuesday, commemorating Kartini Day.

She believes that Indonesian female migrant workers are modern-day Kartinis who dare to take opportunities, improve their capacities, and contribute to their families and the nation.

She stated that female migrant workers not only play a role as breadwinners, but also as agents of change who bring economic and social impacts, both for their families and the surrounding communities.

"Behind these significant contributions, we cannot ignore the fact that challenges remain, from the risk of exploitation to limited access to information," she said.

Therefore, the state is present to ensure that every female migrant worker is protected, has access to accurate information, and receives adequate assistance, she said.

The Ministry of P2MI continues to strengthen various technology-based protection instruments, including optimizing digital systems such as SiskoP2MI, to provide information, complaint services, and rapid responses for Indonesian migrant workers wherever they are, she added.

Kartini Day, she added, should serve as a reminder that collaboration between the government, society, and education sector is necessary to create an ecosystem that supports Indonesian women to become more empowered, protected, and ready to compete globally.

"Female migrant workers are a symbol of Indonesia's resilience. In the spirit of Kartini, let's ensure they not only go to work but also return home with success, experience, and a brighter future," added the deputy minister.
