Natuna (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto donated a cow for Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri in Natuna Regency, Riau Islands Province.

Head of the Natuna Food Security and Agriculture Agency (DKPP), Wan Syazali, when was confirmed in Natuna on Monday, said the local government had been asked to submit proposal for the best cow to be used as the President's sacrificial cow.

He explained the criteria for the cow were has at least one ton and in good health. However, based on field inspections, no such cow was available.

"We purposed a cow with weight around 879.46 kilograms. The largest currently available," he said.

Wan Syazali stated the weight was measured using the Lambourn, a method for estimating livestock weight without scales by measuring chest circumference and body length.

The proposed cow is known to be approximately three years and six months old.

The animal is currently under intensive monitoring by the Natuna DKPP to ensure it remains in good health.

He noted that the price has not yet been finalized. However, the Natuna administration has determined the slaughter location at Al Ihyak Mosque, located on one of Indonesia’s outermost islands.

“The Regent has designated Pulau Laut District as the recipient of the donation,” he said.
