"This Eid al-Adha commemoration is important, especially for Muslims because it carries deep meaning about sacrifice, sincerity, tolerance, and social solidarity," he said during a symbolic handover of sacrificial animals at the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education building courtyard in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He noted that these values have always been an essential part of the social and cultural life of Indonesians, including the tradition of extending help to those in need.
Fadli added that Eid al-Adha also serves as a reminder for the public to maintain a spirit of mutual assistance and collaboration when navigating various challenges and difficulties.
"This commemoration always reminds us of those in need, those who need support and help," he stressed.
For this year's Eid al-Adha, the Ministry of Culture has collected around 23 sacrificial cattle.
Head of the Bureau of State-Owned Property, Procurement, and General Affairs at the Ministry of Culture, Abi Kusno, stated that the sacrificial animals were contributed by all work units and employees within the ministry.
"This year, there are a total of 23 cattle, weighing between 300 and 600 kilograms each," he said.
Abi explained that the slaughtering of the sacrificial animals will take place on Thursday (May 28) at the Budang Sapi Tangerang Farm Slaughterhouse in Tangerang, Banten.
According to him, the total weight of all the sacrificial cattle reaches around 8.5 tons, which is expected to yield over 4 tons of meat.
The meat will later be packed into two-kilogram packages to be distributed to eligible recipients and support staff within the Ministry of Culture on Friday (May 29).
Minister Fadli mentioned that the number of sacrificial animals this year is similar to the previous year and expressed hope that this will remain a positive tradition within the ministry.
