In a press release cited here on Thursday, TNI said the two leaders joined Eid alAdha congregational prayers at Kodam headquarters on Wednesday (May 27) to strengthen ties with locals while promoting unity, tolerance, and togetherness in West Papua.
The celebrations featured a sermon delivered by Baharuddin Sabollah, who encouraged worshippers to uphold the noble values of Eid al-Adha, including sincerity, sacrifice, social solidarity, and togetherness.
He stressed the importance of applying those values in daily life as well as in carrying out duties to the nation.
The prayers were followed by Qurbani animal slaughter, an Eid al-Adha tradition commonly involving cattle and goats in Indonesia.
