"This is a momentum that unites the values of peace, culture, and community creativity. This celebration does not only serve as a spiritual tradition and cultural diplomacy for Indonesia, but also a place for creative work of the nation's generation, involving the arts and cultural communities and collaboration with creative economy activists," Teuku Harsya remarked in a statement on Tuesday.
The ministry's participation in the Vesak commemoration reflects its support for initiatives rooted in cultural and religious values, driving economic growth while enhancing Indonesia’s global standing.

According to him, the Vesak celebration does not stretches beyond a religious event, but also a momentum to strengthen the values of peace, tolerance, and unity, while also to present culture as a unifying force for the nation.
The 2026 National Vesak Celebration carries theme of "Dharma as a Source of Morals and Wisdom" and sub-theme of "Love, the Source of World Peace", with the culmination of the event took place at Borobudur Temple, Central Java, on Sunday (May 31).
The highlight of the event featured various performances, including traditional dances, choir performance from the Indonesian Buddhist Representative Council (Walubi) Central Java, and peace lanterns release, reflecting Indonesia as a harmonious and dignified nation.

This activity also emphasised Borobudur Temple's position as a symbol of civilization and Indonesia's cultural diplomacy as a nation that upholds tolerance and world peace.
Indonesian Ministry of Creative Economy’s participation follows its ongoing partnership with Walubi, covering efforts from art exhibition development to community-based creative economy programs.
Such collaboration is expected to position Vesak as a source of inspiration for fostering an inclusive, creative, and cultured society.
