ANTARA observed that Hindayana, previously tasked with overseeing the government's flagship Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program, was escorted out of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes building in Jakarta at 5:11 p.m. local time, wearing a pink detainee vest.
The ex-BGN chief was led to a detention vehicle in silence, refusing to respond to reporters calling his name.
Apprehended alongside Hindayana were Lodewyk Pusung and Sony Sonjaya, who served as deputy heads under his leadership. Both were seen wearing identical vests.
Earlier, Head of AGO's Legal Information Bureau Mochamad Jeffry confirmed to ANTARA that a search was underway at the BGN office in the morning.
He explained that the operation was carried out by the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes but refrained from divulging further details.
Separately today, Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi responded to the AGO operation with a call for the public to await the outcome of legal proceedings.
"Regarding the information circulating since this morning, I would first of all like to invite all to give law enforcers space to carry out their duty. Let us then await the result afterward," he remarked when contacted from Jakarta.
He also alluded to the recent leadership changes within BGN, describing them as proof of the government's commitment to enhance bureaucracy and governance across institutions, not only the agency.
"Let us all keep in mind the importance of avoiding conduct that violates norms and laws in running government and daily tasks," Hadi said.
The previous day, he announced President Prabowo Subianto's decision to dismiss the three detainees from BGN leadership, installing Naniek Sudaryati Deyang to lead the agency, a promotion from her post as deputy head for public communication and investigation.
Meanwhile, Pusung and Sonjaya were replaced by Agustina Arumsari and Major General Trenggono, respectively.
Hadi explained that the leadership overhaul is primarily intended to improve the implementation of the MBG program overseen by the agency.
The dismissals and arrests came within 24 hours since Hindayana accompanied the president on a visit to an MBG kitchen in Palmerah, West Jakarta.
