On Wednesday, AGO arrested former BGN head Dadan Hindayana (DH), former deputy head for organizational development and institutional support Lodewyk Pusung (LP), and former deputy head for nutrition fulfillment operations Sony Sonjaya (SS).
Speaking in Jakarta, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, Investigation Director at the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, explained that the AGO elevated the status of the three detainees from witness to suspect following a series of questioning.
He added that the investigating team had also identified two pieces of evidence deemed strong enough to proceed with legal proceedings.
Elaborating further, Nahdi pointed out that the three former BGN leaders are suspected of appointing foundations with ties to them as partners of nutrition fulfillment service units (SPPGs), which serve as kitchens responsible for producing and distributing meals under the MBG program.
“The foundations are affiliated and owned by suspect DH, suspect SS, and suspect LP,” he stated.
He went on to say that the three suspects also allegedly resorted to unlawful practices in procuring services and goods for the national priority program.
The suspects are now subject to 20 days of custody in two detention facilities managed by the AGO and the South Jakarta District Attorney’s Office.
These arrests followed a search conducted earlier in the morning by the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes at BGN’s headquarters in Central Jakarta.
On Tuesday night (June 2), President Prabowo Subianto officially discharged Hindayana, Pusung, and Sonjaya from BGN leadership, appointing Naniek Sudaryati Deyang, formerly a deputy head, to lead the agency.
He also assigned Agustina Arumsari and Major General Trenggono to replace the removed deputy chiefs.
