Karim arrived at the KPK's Red and White Building in Jakarta at around 10:33 p.m. local time.
Karim said he visited the building after completing earlier activities.
"It's just finishing agendas," he told reporters at the KPK headquarters on Wednesday.
However, he declined to answer journalists' questions regarding the purpose of his visit.
During his arrival, aides accompanying Karim appeared to block and elbow journalists attempting to photograph or interview him.
The KPK earlier confirmed a sting operation at the West Jakarta Class I Non-TPI Immigration Office, marking the agency's 11th sting operation in 2026.
The operation involved alleged irregularities in processing residence permits for foreign nationals, including Permanent Stay Permits (KITAP) and Limited Stay Permits (KITAS).
In operations launched since Tuesday evening, the agency arrested dozens of people, including Ronald Arman Abdullah, head of the West Jakarta immigration office.
Authorities also seized dozens of vehicles, cash denominated in US and Singapore dollars, and precious metals as evidence.
On Wednesday evening, the KPK announced it was seeking Karim in connection with the wider operation.
The agency also announced the temporary detention of 17 people, including eight state officials and nine private individuals acting as immigration intermediaries.
Those detained included Ronald Arman Abdullah, Jaya Saputra, and Saffar Muhammad Godam, acting immigration director general from October 2024 to April 2025.
The KPK said Karim came under scrutiny because he previously served as immigration director general between January 2023 and October 2024. “During his tenure as director general,” KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said.
