Speaking at a national consolidation meeting for the Free Nutritious Meals program in Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday, Prabowo said he received the reports some time ago.
"Some time ago, I received reports. There were shortcomings, irregularities and indications of misconduct by the leadership," Prabowo said.
The president said he summoned Financial and Development Supervisory Agency head Muhammad Yusuf Ateh and Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center head Ivan Yustiavandana.
Prabowo said he asked both officials to further investigate the reports and examine the allegations.
He said leadership quality plays a critical role in determining institutional performance, making problems at senior levels potentially damaging.
Prabowo stressed the Free Nutritious Meals program is important because it targets people needing assistance and supports efforts to improve future generations' quality of life.
The president also voiced support for strengthening oversight bodies and law enforcement agencies handling corruption allegations.
He asked supervisory institutions, the Corruption Eradication Commission, the Attorney General's Office and other agencies to state what support they require.
Prabowo said stronger oversight institutions and law enforcement are needed to prevent misuse of public funds.
"I do not want the people's money to be stolen, there will be no exceptions," he said.
