Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) said on Friday that 548 madrasas in 26 provinces have already been completed with a budget of around Rp1.3 trillion.
He added that the largest portion of the program covers 836 madrasas under multi-year contracts for 2025-2026, with overall progress reaching 62 percent.
According to AHY, the initiative was launched following the collapse of a building at an Islamic boarding school in Sidoarjo, East Java, and aims to provide safer learning facilities for students across the country.
