"Under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Indonesia relations have maintained strong momentum and entered a new stage of building a China-Indonesia community with a shared future," Wang said in a recent written interview with ANTARA.
He said bilateral cooperation will continue to focus on five strategic pillars, political, economic, people-to-people and cultural, maritime, and security cooperation, with the aim of further deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
According to Wang, President Prabowo has visited China on at least three occasions, while President Xi has made several visits to Indonesia since assuming office in 2013.
He added that Indonesia-China relations have continued to advance under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework. The establishment of the ministerial "2+2" dialogue involving the foreign and defense ministers of both countries has further strengthened high-level strategic coordination, while cooperation between senior officials continues to expand.
In the economic sector, bilateral trade reached US$167.49 billion in 2025, with China remaining Indonesia's largest trading partner for the 13th consecutive year, Wang said.
"The Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway has become a flagship project of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries," he added.
To further strengthen people-to-people ties, China has introduced a 240-hour visa-free transit policy for Indonesian passport holders and expanded Chinese language education programs for Indonesians, including courses offered through the "China Space" corner at Jakarta's Istiqlal Mosque.
Wang also noted that during the first five months of 2026, the number of Chinese visitors to Indonesia reached 765,700, representing a year-on-year increase of 21.16 percent.
As bilateral cooperation continues to generate positive results, Beijing is ready to work closely with Jakarta to implement the common understandings reached by President Prabowo and President Xi while upholding the principle of mutually beneficial cooperation.
"The fruitful outcomes of China-Indonesia cooperation stem from the alignment of our development philosophies, the convergence of our interests, and the opportunities created by China's long-term stable development path," Wang said.
