The matter was discussed during a meeting between Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf and BNPT Head Eddy Hartono in Jakarta on Monday.
Saifullah noted that collaboration between his ministry and BNPT has been long established. Under the partnership, BNPT serves as the lead coordinator for deradicalization, while the ministry provides support through social rehabilitation services across its centers.
"We have been working together for a long time. BNPT takes the lead, and we at the Ministry of Social Affairs support them to ensure the program runs smoothly," the minister said.
He explained that during the rehabilitation process, the ministry, BNPT, and other relevant government bodies offer guidance to help beneficiaries recover and resume their social roles within their families and communities.
He further said that the Ministry of Social Affairs receives beneficiaries recommended by BNPT to join the rehabilitation program at its centers. Throughout the process, they receive psychosocial support, medical rehabilitation, and empowerment training until they are ready to return to their respective communities.
BNPT Head Eddy Hartono said the collaboration is part of President Prabowo Subianto's Asta Cita vision, which has been integrated into the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).
He noted that the Ministry of Social Affairs plays a strategic role in supporting deradicalization through social rehabilitation and reintegration for beneficiaries.
Eddy added that technological advancements have shifted the spread of radical ideology increasingly into the digital space, prompting the government to step up prevention measures through cross-sectoral collaboration.
In this regard, the government has issued the National Action Plan for the Prevention and Countering of Violent Extremism Conducive to Terrorism.
