Presidential Communication Office (Bakom) Head Muhammad Qodari said Tuesday that the leadership transition from Nanik S. Deyang to Sudaryono was part of efforts to improve the MBG program.
He said the government's priority was to continuously improve service quality so the program's benefits could reach the public more effectively.
"We will further improve food safety standards and oversee every stage of the MBG program, from ingredient availability to meal delivery. We will also respond more quickly to public reports," he said.
Qodari said the government recognized the public's high expectations for MBG, adding that they would motivate authorities to make the program more reliable and responsive.
The government will also strengthen oversight across the program, from procuring ingredients and preparing food to distributing and delivering meals to beneficiaries, he said.
Qodari said the government was seeking not only to expand MBG's coverage but also to make service quality the program's key measure of success.
He said the benefits experienced by beneficiaries and their sense of ownership of the program were important indicators of MBG's implementation.
"MBG's success is not measured solely by its coverage or the number of beneficiaries. It is measured by service quality and the public's strong sense of ownership," he said.
Qodari said the government was optimistic that continued improvements would make MBG more effective and an important investment toward realizing the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
"By learning, welcoming evaluation and improving, we are optimistic that this program will become more effective, better targeted and bring smiles to future generations," he said.
