Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund and investment management agency, Danantara, will participate in Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) meeting solely in an advisory capacity without decision-making or voting rights, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa clarified.

Addressing reporters in Jakarta following Danantara's first participation in a KSSK meeting, Purbaya emphasized that legal voting power remains exclusively in the hands of Indonesia's four KSSK members: the Finance Ministry, Bank Indonesia (BI), the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS).

"By law, KSSK meetings may be attended by invited outside parties. However, when it comes to decisions, Danantara will not hold voting rights,” Purbaya said on Tuesday (July 28).

The Finance Minister explained that Danantara’s participation during its debut KSSK meeting offered valuable real-sector insights, enabling policymakers to craft more targeted national economic strategies.

He noted that inviting the investment agency brings a crucial corporate perspective from an institution that manages large-scale commercial assets.

"For us, the information is very useful to assess the real conditions in the business sector and the assets that Danantara manages,” Purbaya noted.

“As regulators, we are used to looking at raw data, which can sometimes lead to interpretations that may sometimes lack practical context. Danantara enriches our perspective with practical context,” he added.

Purbaya reassured market observers that while input from the investment agency will help inform financial strategy, core systemic policy will be determined strictly by the statutory KSSK leadership.

"We will not include Danantara as a decision-maker. However, their input is welcome to enrich the information considered when the heads of KSSK, BI, OJK and LPS make decisions," he said.

The clarification follows recent statements from Danantara Chief Executive Officer Rosan Roeslani, who revealed that President Prabowo Subianto had directed the agency to attend KSSK meetings regularly.

According to Rosan, the presidential mandate aims to ensure various national economic policies evaluate business and real-sector impacts alongside traditional fiscal and monetary factors.

"KSSK will involve Danantara so that decisions have a direct, positive impact on the economy and business world, beyond just the fiscal and monetary sides," Rosan stated.
