“In 21 months, this administration has decided on and implemented 121 transformative policies,” Prabowo said during his state address at the 2026 Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) on Friday.
Among the policies, Prabowo highlighted measures to strengthen food self-sufficiency, including the removal of 145 fertilizer distribution regulations and a 20 percent cut in fertilizer prices.
“We have eliminated 145 fertilizer distribution regulations and lowered fertilizer prices by 20 percent. This is the first time in the history of the Republic of Indonesia,” he said.
Prabowo also said Indonesia had achieved diesel fuel self-sufficiency for the first time after introducing B50, a biodiesel blend using palm oil, on July 1, 2026.
“We no longer import diesel and have saved Rp170 trillion (about US$9.8 billion) in foreign exchange that would otherwise have gone abroad,” Prabowo said.
He added that the government had delivered on its promise to provide nutritious meals, while downstreaming initiatives and social assistance programs had also been implemented.
The address was part of events marking Indonesia’s 81st Independence Anniversary.
MPR Speaker Ahmad Muzani, Regional Representatives Council (DPD) Speaker Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin and House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Puan Maharani also delivered speeches.
