During a visit to the ministry's regional office in Banten on Wednesday, he said the mechanism is aimed at ensuring the leadership selection process does not only consider competency and track record but also involves employees who will work with the elected leader.
"The e-voting mechanism is oriented toward creating a solid team within work units to improve public services that are increasingly excellent," Agtas said, as confirmed in Jakarta.
He said he would not interfere with the process or the outcomes generated by the mechanism.
Employees were also asked to use their voting rights objectively, without pressure or interests outside the organization's interests.
The Law Ministry has once again involved employees in determining regional office heads across the country.
Through the e-voting mechanism, employees at the Banten regional office were given the opportunity to choose a regional office head who had previously passed screening through the talent management system.
Agtas advised whoever is eventually elected not to treat the position as grounds for feeling superior to fellow employees.
According to him, the quality of a leader is seen from their ability to listen and create a healthy work environment.
Meanwhile, Law Ministry Secretary General Nico Afinta, who chairs the talent management team, explained that leadership candidates chosen by employees had already gone through the screening process within the ministry's talent management system.
"Employees are given the opportunity to choose leadership candidates who have previously been screened through talent management. So, the chosen candidates have already gone through an assessment process," Afinta said.
Through e-voting, the Law Ministry is pushing for a leadership selection process that is more transparent, objective, and participatory.
The digital-based mechanism is also part of efforts to strengthen talent management in producing competent leaders capable of building collaboration with employees.
