Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has stressed the need for a law on government administration for Indonesia so that good governmental management can be realized and a clear differentiation be made between the authorities, duties and responsibilities of the central and regional governments.

"I have been leading (the country) for six years and feel there are a lot of things not well regulated yet. Now, we regulate to make everything certain," said President Yudhoyono in his opening remarks at a limited cabinet meeting dedicated to preparing the draft of the law, at the presidential office here on Wednesday.

President Yudhoyono said if everything was made certain, everyone could work with certainty.

"But, the other way round, should there be deviation or violation there will be clear consequences, sanctions. That way would make the system run well and with good results," he said.

The president emphasizing that the success of development in Indonesia would need an effective government from the central to regional levels.

He added that a good administration governance was not only limited to the creation of a clean and corruption-free government, but also an effective and responsive one which could render the best service to the people as well as accountable to them.

"It is also needed that the good government be made running well, discipline enforced, the budget be efficient and the performance improving. If we could make those aspects realities, then it would augment the certainty and transparency," he said.

The limited cabinet meeting was among other attended by Vice-President Boediono, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa, Coordinating Minister for
People?s Welfare, Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa, Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro, Home Affairs Minister Gamawan Fauzi and Law and Human Rights Minister Patrialis Akbar.(*)
