Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian embassy in Kuala Lumpur has appointed a lawyer from the Raftfizi & Rao law office to defend Indonesian housemaid Walfrida Soik (17) in her legal process in Malaysia.

"She is currently held at the Pengkalan Chepa jail in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, and waiting for her trial," head of the the East Nusa Tenggara advocacy division Jan Pieter Windy said here Thursday.

He said that on December 11, 2010, an Indonesian embassy staff came to see Walfrida Soik at the Pasir Mas station in Kelantan, and offered her legal aid.

"The Indonesian government and the Indonesian embassy in Kuala Lumpur continued monitoring the murder case of Walfrida Soik," he said. (*)
