Jakarta (ANTARA News) - A US citizen known by his initials as JA is allegedly involved in the case of tax corruption defendant Gayus Tambunan`s passport forgery and the police has already issued a warrant to arrest the person.

The national police`s chief intelligence, Senior Commissioner Ito Sumardi, did not deny if when asked to confirm about it here on Friday.

"You have known it so it means...," he said.

The national police`s chief spokesman Senior Commissioner Boy Rafli Amar said JA was allegedly the mastermind behind the forgery of the passpost used by Gayus to go abroad in September 2010.

The police have so far arrested a suspect known as AN while another suspect known as J is now still being interrogated, he said.

Gayus has used a forged passport under the name of Sony Laksono carrying his picture wearing a wig for going to Singapore, Macau, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong.
He used the passport for going to Macau on September 24, 2010 aboard a Mandala plane.

Gayus got the passport from a syndicate by paying US$100,000. His lawyer however said he only paid Rp200 million for it.(*)
