Jakarta (ANTARA News)- The Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) has urged the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to summon former national police chief Bambang Hendarso Danuri and chairman of the House Commission III Benny K Harman over the Gayus Tambunan tax mafia case.

"If the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is really serious about resolving the Gayus case it must soon summon former national police chief Bambang Hendarso Danuri and chairman of the House Commission III over their statements about the Gayus case," Chairman of the IPW Presidium Neta S. Pane said here on Sunday.

Benny said some time ago "if the Gayus case is revealed it can rock this republic".
"IPW sees the statement as camouflage and public lie to protect certain quarters," Neta said.

Neta said Benny`s statement which he claimed originated from Bambang Hendarso Danuri had much hurt the public sense of justice.

"Both the chairman of the House Commission III and Bambang Hendarso Danuri must be summoned to disclose the parties they have referred to in the statement," he said.

IPW said the statement by Bambang Hendarso Danuri gave an impression as if the police were not professional in resolving the Gayus case.

Gayus has allegedly been involved in a tax fraud mafia syndicate. He has continued making headlines after being known of having visited some foreign countries while under detention.

He is also believed to have forged his picture for making a forged passport to go abroad.

He was believed to be in Macau on Sept 22 to 24, 2010 and later on Sept 30, 2010 and Oct 2, 2010 to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
