Taipei (ANTARA News/CNA) - With salary levels remaining stagnant, approximately 60 percent of office workers are looking for ways to earn extra money during the upcoming Chinese New Year holiday, according to the results of a survey released Monday by an online employment broker.

The poll showed that 43.6 percent of office workers are considering taking temporary short-term jobs during the holiday, while 31.6 percent will try to generate investment ideas.

Some 21 percent will try to sell products online and work during the holiday to earn extra funds, the results showed.

The survey also reveals that office workers spend NT$25,000 on average during the holiday on expenses such as preparing red envelopes (28 percent), dining (27 percent), buying new clothes (12 percent) and travel (12 percent).

The survey was conducted by 104 Job Bank Jan. 5-7 on 1,336 office workers. It had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.7 percentage points. (*)
