New York (ANTARA News/Reuters Life) - Actress Kathleen Turner will play a recovering alcoholic nun in a new play due to open on Broadway in April, producers said on Friday.

Turner (56), best known for her roles in the movies "Romancing the Stone" and "Prizzi`s Honor", will play Sister Jamison Connelly in the play "High" by writer Matthew Lombardo.

"High" looks at the relationship between a 19 year-old drug addict who is helped by Turner`s character. It marks the first return of Turner to Broadway since her 2005 Tony-nominated appearance in a revival of "Who`s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?".

Producers said that "High" would begin previews on March 25 and officially open on April 19. They warned that the play contains strong language and nudity and said audience members under 17 years-old should be accompanied by a parent.
