Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The body of senior diplomat Nana Sutresna is expected to arrive at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Thursday evening by a Garuda flight from Singapore, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

Upon arrival at the airport at 06.15 p.m., Sutresna will later be taken to his house on Jl Cilandak III No. 1, Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta, Kusuma Habir said on Thursday.

Sutresna will be laid in state at his house before being buried at the Kalibata heroes cemetery in South Jakarta on Friday, he said.

Sutresna, who was Indonesian ambassador to Britain during the President Megawati Soekarnoputri administration died at 10.30 a.m on Thursday at Raffles Hospital in Singapore, the spokesman said.

Born on October 21, 1933, in Ciamis, West Java, Sutresna began to join the Foreign Ministry in 1957. He was later assigned at the Indonesian embassies in Austria, India, the United States and Mexico.

Sutresna, one-time Indonesian permanent representative to the United Nations, was appointed chief of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Secretariat when Indonesia chaired the movement during the President Soeharto administration.

He was also President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono`s special envoy for Asia-Africa and Non-Aligned Movement cooperation.(*)
