Bandarlampung, Lampung (ANTARA News) - The non-oil/gas exports from Lampung province to Malaysia last year reached 615.6 million US dollars.

Head of the Lampung industrial and trade agency Thamrin Bachtiar said here Tuesday the exports reached 190,632 tons.

The exports in 2009 of 278,074 tons were worth 277.14 million US dollars, but the volume dropped 31.45 pct, but the value increased drastically to 122.13 pct, thanks to an increase in the prices of some commodities on the world market, including in Asia.

He said it also appeared that besides Malaysia, some other countries in Asia are also the destinations of Lampung`s potential commodities such as China, Japan, and Vietnam.

A number of leading export commodities of Lampung which had reached Malaysia last year included Robusta coffee, black pepper, cassia, tapioca, gum, CPO, copra residue, cacao, canned pineapple, active carbon, and rubber.

Some of the companies exporting the commodities to Malaysia include PT Keong Nusantara Abadi, CV Alam Jaya, PT Indokom Citrapersada, PT Indra Brothers, and many others. (*)
