The suspect was seen among residents gathering there
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police have found the suspect who has masterminded the clashes between residents and Ahmadiyah followers in Cikeusik, Pandeglang, Banten on Sunday last week.

"The suspect in Banten is the UJ. We have collected information and are now waiting for more complete examinations," Police Chief Gen Timur Pradopo said here on Monday.

The suspect was seen among residents gathering there. There was no indication of the involvement of certain community, he said.

Police said information on the suspect who is there at the witness questioning was obtained in the incident scenes if (TKP) and in from the local people.

"I think conditions for further investigation and for taking the suspect to the court have been met," the Police chief said.

Currently, the Police have arrested eight suspects linked to the Ahmadiyah case that occurred in Cikeusik, Pandeglang, Banten.

The suspects who were detained were three in total. Five others still need further investigations.

The clashes have led to the fall of eight victims of whom three died, namely Karno and Mulyadi who are brothers, residents Cikeusik and an other one named Roni, a resident of Jakarta.

Five others who were injured were named Pipip, resident of Cilegon, Dias (Jakarta) Ahmad (Jakarta), Deden Darmawan (Jakarta) and M Ahmad (Ciledug, South Tangerang).

Police have earlier named eight suspects in the clash between a crowd of local people and Ahmadiyah members which occurred on Sunday (Feb 6) in Cikeusik Sub-District, Pandeglang District, Banten.

"We have already detained three suspects while the five others are now still undergoing questioning," National Police Headquarters spokesman Senior Commissioner Boy Rafli Amar said here Monday.

The investigation was being conducted by referring to some video footing on the clash in Cikeusik that the police had obtained.

The National Police Headquarters was assisting the Banten Police in investigating the case and arresting those who were involved in the violence.

"We are in search for those who are responsible for the unrest and urg them to surrender," Boy said.(*)
