Banda Aceh, Aceh Province (ANTARA News) - "Maulid Nabi" or Prophet Muhammad`s birthday is a good momentum to build order in social life and a just and prosperous nation.

"The apostle of Allah SAW (God The Most Holy) gave us a good example to build a fairer social order and more prosperous nation," Aceh Governor Irwandi Yusuf said at a function to observe Muhammad`s birthday at Baiturrahman grand mosque here on Monday night.

In his written address read out by Aceh provincial government secretary Teuku Setia Budi, the governor said the the social and national order built by the prophet also highly respected social justice, deliberation and consensus.

"The prophet also respected rights and humanitarian values, the supremacy of law enforcement, and togetherness to maintain social harmony," Governor Irwandi Yusuf said in his statement.

According to him, such an order from the prophet has inspired Aceh government to build the westernmost province in Indonesia to more civilized in the future.

He said the justice shown by the prophet could also be felt by the weak and marginalized community.

"Therefore the ongoing development in Aceh province should be of great advantage to those weak and marginalized community. In addition we have to give our special attention to orphans, helpless elderly people, disabled and poor community," he said.

While in Jakarta on Tuesday the prophet` birthday was observed in a mass religious gathering attended by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

Started at 9 am, the big religious gathering at the National Monument south square was attended by hundreds of thousands of people for joint prayers for the state and nation.

Besides President Yudhoyono and a number of state officials, noted cleric of Langitan, KH Abdullah Faqih, also attended the mass gathering.

Tuesday, February 15, 2011 is an official holiday in Indonesia for the celebration of Prophet Muhammad`s birthday which is also called Maulid Nabi.
