Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Japan has prepared the master plan of Indonesia`s Metropolitan Priority Area (MPA, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa said here on Monday.

He said the master plan of the Metropolitan Priority Area was a follow-up to an Indonesia-Japan agreement to develop highly competitive urban areas.

"The detailed MPA master plan is about special development in the transportation sector, industrial areas, electricity adequacy, power plants, sea ports, airports, which is called a smart city," Hatta said.

He made the statement to explain the result of his meeting with Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keidanren) in Jakarta.

Hatta said it was the follow-up of a memorandum of understanding between him and Japanese Foreign Minister Seiji Maehara on metropolitan area priority which was signed in Nusa Dua, Bali, on December 10, 2010.

Therefore the economic minister added that the implementation of metropolitan area would soon be realized after an agreement with Japanese ambassador later on March 17, 2011.

"The presence of Keidanren officials in Jakarta is part of their visit to Asean countries tor reaffirmed a commitment regarding six economic corridors," he said.

Hatta added that the visit of Keidanren officials to Indonesia was also part of Asean integration plan in 2015 and the formation of Asean connectivity.

"But I asserted that Indonesia connectivity must be realized before the Asean connectivity," Hatta said.(*)
