Taipei (ANTARA News/CNA) - An anti-bullying campaign hoping to create a more friendly learning environment for students was launched at elementary and junior high schools around Taiwan on Wednesday.

Anti-bullying posters and pink T-shirts seen at the schools underscored the anti-bullying message.

Highly publicized cases of bullying have focused renewed attention on the problem recently, with the government vowing to take measures to deal with the problem.

A Child Welfare League Foundation survey of fifth, sixth, seventh and ninth graders conducted in January found that 18.8 percent of the students surveyed said they had been bullied often (meaning more than three times a month) at school. (*)
