Kabul (ANTARA News/Xinhua-OANA) - Bomb targeting Afghan army went off on Saturday morning in the Afghan capital Kabul, followed by exchange of fire, officers told Xinhua.

The bomb exploded at around 6:30 a.m. local time (0200 GMT) in Pulicharkhi in the eastern part of Kabul when a bus carrying Afghan National Army staff passed by.

The gunshot is still going on, an Afghan security official on the spot said.

"There could be casualties," officer of Afghan Defense Ministry Press Department told Xinhua. "Details will be released after investigation."

However, Hashmatullah Stanikzai, a press officer with Kabul police department, said that the situation was under control.

"An investigation team is sent to the areas near the Camp Phoenix in Pulicharkhi area," Stanikzai told Xinhua.
