Pamekasan, E Java (ANTARA News) - A women in Galis village, Galis sub-district, Pamekasan, Madura, East Java, gave normal birth to a triplet.

The woman named Ummul Imamah (33), wife of Mulyadianto (33), gave birth when she was 9 months and 10 days pregnant with the help of a local midwife. But since the triplet was very weak, its relatives referred the triplet to the Pamekasan hospital.

"The three babies were all male," head of the Pamekasan Neonatal Room Hospital Siti Husaimatul Himmah said Monday.

Siti said that the first baby weighed 1.8 kilogram, the second 2.2 kilogram, and the third also 1.6 kilogram. The three are now held in an incubator.

Ummul Imamah said at the Pamekasan hospital the triplet was born at 12.00 on Sunday (April 10). She did not have the feeling that her baby will be a triplet, because she never had an ultrasonograph (USG).

Ummul Imamah was the second woman in Madura who gave birth to a triplet in a normal way.

By the end of March 2011, another woman (39) of Malakah village, Jrengik sub-district, Sampang regency, also gave birth to a triplet in a normal way.

The woman, Misnati, wife of Abd Basit (42), gave birth when she was nine months pregnant, also with the help of a midwife.

Two of Misnati`s triplet were female.
