Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono appreciated State insurance company PT Jamsostek, and expressed hope that the company`s performance in ensuring workers welfare would continuously improve.

PT Jamsostek President Director Hotbonar Sinaga in a press statement on Monday said President Yudhoyono expressed the hope when the head of state met with the workers in Cileungsi, West Java, on Monday.

According to Sinaga, the president`s expectation would be the company`s main program outside the social security program.

In a dialog with the workers, the president said Jamsostek programs should continue to be beneficial for the workers while they were still actively working and after they stopped working.

President Yudhoyono said the Jamsostek program should improve its contribution and assistance to the workers.

Meanwhile, Hotbonar Sinaga said PT Jamsostek programs had a lot of advantages outside its main program which was funded from the workers` welfare funds namely from revolving funds and non revolving funds.

Concerning health insurance, Sinaga said the company continued to improve its service and at present it was proposing a "ceiling wage" to guarantee health care services.

Therefore President Yudhoyono appreciated the company and expressed hope that it would continue to improve its service for the people.

"We hope that PT Jamsostek will continue to develop its policy to help the workers," Sinaga quoted the president as saying.

Up to the end of 2010 the company has channeled Rp1.03 trillion of funds for the improvement of the workers` welfare, and this year it will channel Rp437 billion with the proportion of 70 percent for revolving funds and 30 percent for non revolving funds.

Sinaga said most of the funds were channeled in the form of scholarship and this year it will provide Rp28.4 billion for 12,250 high school and university students.
