Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Chinese investors are so enthusiastic to buildig a number of infrastrucure projects including bridges, toll roads, rainroad trains, ports and airports, and environmentally friendly energy pojects in Indonesia, Indonesian ambassador to China Imron Cotan said.

"Not only in direct foreign investment, Chinese investors are also interested to realize various development cooperation projects in those sectors under the Public-Private Partnership scheme," the ambassador said in a press release here on Wednesday.

This was mentioned in the RI-China investment forum in Beijing on May 25, 2011.

The forum was part of the Trade, Tourism and Investment (TTI) promotion program of the Indonesian embassy in Beijing in various cities in China to increase the flow of Chinese investments and tourism to Indonesia and expansion of market access for Indonesian products in China.

Some 300 Chinese leading businesses like Sinohydro, China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), Gezhouba,CITIC, China National Offshore Oil Company (CNOOC) and Indonesian businessmen attended the forum.

The ambassador said the cooperation and investment of the two countries in infrastructure projects will play an important role in boosting Indonesian economic growth.

By using experience, technology and financial potential, Chinese investors will play an important role in realizing the target of accelerated and expansion of national infrasturture development.

"Indonesia is a very attractive investment destination for Chinese investors wishing to expand their business network in the international world," he said.

The ambassador urged China as an Indonesian strategic partner to increase its investment, especially in infrastructure, transportation, manufacturing and energy which will give added value and technology transfer for Indonesia.

On the sidelines of the forum an exhibition is also held of infrastructure development and the oil and gas sector in Indonesia which had enthusiastically attracted Chinese businessmen. H-NG/B003
