Bogor, West Java (ANTARA News) - To mark the 529th anniversary of Bogor city , the local administration has opened the Bogor Presidential Palace to the public.

"People from Bogor or outside Bogor are given the opportunity to visit the palace for six days. So, for those who are interested to come, please register with the culture and tourism service," chief of the Bogor anniversary committee, Ade Syarif Hidayat, said here on Friday.

Ade said the "Istana Open" activity will be held from June 13 to 16 and to be followed later from June 20 and 21. This is a routine annual activity held to mark the city`s anniversary.

He said there are certain rules that have to be adhered to for those visiting the palace. Based on the rules visitors are not allowed to wear jeans, flip-flops and carry food bags.

"We wish to teach people about rules applied in the palace so that they know about the rules that are also implemented by palace officials," he said.

Istana Open executive committee chief Bayu said the Bogor culture and tourism service has opened registration as of June 1.

Around 60,000 people visited the palace last year, he said. (H-YH/O001)
