Jambi (ANTARA News) - Jambi`s Tourism and Cultural Service said that the Geopark in Marangin district was a tourism asset which would be proposed to Unesco to get its recognition and a patent right as an Indonesian cultural heritage.

"We have two tourism objects which we would give priorities to be proposed to Unesco to get its recognition, namely the Muarajambi temple in Muaro Jambi district and the Geopark in Merngin district," head of the local cultural and tourism service, Heri Suroso said here on Saturday.

He said that Jambi has another opportunity to raise its tourism through the promotion of Geopark in Merngin to the public. He said historical facts in the form of fossils were estimated to date back to about 150 million to 299 million years ago.(*)
