Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President Boediono is scheduled to attend the 7th meeting of the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) in Astana, Kazakhstan, on Wednesday after which he will perform umroh (minor hajj) in the Holy Land.

Boediono will attend the meeting to represent President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, vice presidential spokesman Yopie Hidayat said here on Sunday.

The vice president would leave Jakarta for Kazakhstan on Monday via Soekarno-Hatta airport, he said.

"The vice president is expected to arrive in Kazakhstan in the morning of June 7, 2011. In the evening he will meet with Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev. After attending the WIEF meeting on June 8, 2011, he will proceed to Saudi Arabia to perform the umroh on June 9, 2011. He is scheduled to leave Saudi Arabia on June 11, 2011 and arrive back in Jakarta on June 12, 2011," he said.

Boediono`s entourage will include chief of the vice president`s strategic study team Sofyan Djalil, member of the team Abdillah Toha, secretary of the vice president Mohammad Oemar and deputy secretary of the vice president for the economy and infrastructure Tirta Hidayat.

Representatives of state-owned companies including Pertamina, Pusri, Petrokimia Gresik, Krakatau Steel and Perkebunan Nusantara III are scheduled to take part in the meeting to explore the possibilities of cooperation with their counterparts from other Islamic countries taking part in the meeting.
