Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Thursday night is scheduled to open the Jakarta Fair (PRJ) 2011 in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

The Head of State will open the annual fair which will be held in the framework of the birthday of the Jakarta City, at 19:30 pm.

In a press conference to reporters, the organizer said that the Jakarta Fair for the year 2011 will be participated in by 1300 booths of 2,600 companies that will fill some 10 hectares of land in the Kemayoran Expo site which has a total area of ​​44 hectares.

The organizers have the target to increase the number of visitors to four million people, up by three million visitors in 2010.

In addition to raising the target number of visitors, the committee also raised the transaction target from Rp3 trillion to Rp3.5 trillion.

Jakarta Fair was first held in 1968 with the title Djakarta Fair. In 2004, the Jakarta Fair site was moved from the area of ​​the National Monument (Monas) to the former Kemayoran Airport area in Central Jakarta.

In 2010, the number of visitors to the fair reached 3.5 million people. It increased if compared with that in 2009 which was visited by 3.183 million people.

The Jakarta Fair 2010 transactions recorded a value of approximately Rp3.1 trillion or an increase compared to that in 2009 which reached Rp2,64 trillion.
