Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Jakarta Metropolitan Police have raised alertness following terror information of food poisoning attack plans on police members.

"The police have certainly increased security at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Command canteen to prevent possible food poisoning," Jakarta Metropolitan Police Command head of public relations bureau, Senior Commissioner Baharudin Djafar said here on Monday.

He said he had appealed to food sellers or canteen manager at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters to be alert on suspicious foods for possible poisoning.

In anticipation of the foods he said the Jakarta police would conduct checks on foods or drinks circulating in the police station.

National Police chief General Timur Pradopo confirmed information that a terrorist network had planned to poison police members through foods.

Police anti-terror unit Densus 88 meanwhile has arrested six alleged terrorists in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, and Tambora, West Jakarta, on Saturday and confiscated from them evidence such as swords and four pen pistols.

The alleged terrorists were found to plan a food poisoning attack on police.
